Ultraviolet Systems for Spas
The only difference between swimming pools and spas in the area of use of the Ultra UV system, relates to the temperature difference between pool water and spa water. When temperatures rise to the higher level normally found in spas, the UV-C output intensity of the lamp(s) drop approximately 20% from their lower operating temperature output intensity when used with pool water. Therefore, when sizing a Ultra UV system for spa application, simply reduce the recommended capacity of the unit by 20% when selecting the proper size unit for the installation. A single lamp or two lamp Ultra UV system will accommodate nearly all spa sizes, however up to 3 lamps (174 Watts total) can be ordered, or later installed in the unit in the field. This flexibility gives the user the maximum capability from a single unit.
