Residential UV Pool Systems

When chloramines and similar compounds are exposed to UV energy, they are broken down. This reduces the odour and irritation problems that are generally associated with chlorine pools, leaving cleaner, better smelling water and giving an enhanced swimming experience.

Ultraviolet Pool Systems Provide Protection Beyond Chlorine

UV-C lamp immediately inactivates 99.9% of microorganisms such as Crypto, Giardia and algae which are resistant to chlorine. This provides a cleaner, clearer swimming environment with zero harmful by-products. Plus, an Ultra UV will dramatically reduce the amount of chlorine needed to maintain an adequate level of residual sanitizer.*  In fact, the CDC is now recommending UV to eliminate the possibility of such organisms.

Eliminating the Danger

Chlorine used to disinfect swimming pools is widely recognized as a health hazard. New research suggests that children who swim frequently in chlorinated pools may have increased risks of developing allergies or asthma. Among adults, exposure to chlorine in swimming pools has been linked with other health problems including bladder and rectal cancer and, possibly, an increased risk for coronary heart disease.

The latest on this comes from a study in Belgium, which found that teens who spent more than 1,000 hours swimming in chlorinated pools had more than eight times the risk of developing asthma or allergies. The Belgian researchers also found that the risks of hay fever and other allergies more than doubled with significant exposure to chlorinated pools. The study was published in the online issue of Pediatrics on Sept. 14, 2009.

Ultraviolet Sanitation

UV pool systems eliminates up to 90% of chlorine and nearly 100% of chlorine side effects. Ultraviolet reduces harsh chemicals to the safest levels available for swimming pools. In fact, chlorine levels can be reduced to those found in drinking water – 0.3 to 0.5 ppm.

Using the latest UV low pressure high output UV technology, 13,000 hour lamp life makes our systems one of the UV industries easiest to operate, easiest to maintain, and most reliable UV systems available. Suitable for indoor and outdoor operation, these small footprint UV systems become an obvious choice for the user who demands the best.
